LOOKING AFTER YOUR DREADS
Best way to look after your dreads is to book in regular maintenance with us to keep them looking amazing and growing right. A visit every 3-6months is ideal to keep the fizz and loose hair in check, depending on how tidy you want them. New dreads require more frequent maintenance but as your dreads grow and come to life, maintenance should get quicker and less frequent.
Wearing hats, beanies, helmets etc will have an impact in the overall wear and tear of your dreads. Swimming, over-washing and the way you dry your dreads may create frizz and loose hair at the roots.

Adding beeswax is not an ideal way to maintain dreads. It will forever stay in your dreads and attract dirt until it becomes solid and weighty.
WASHING YOUR DREADS
Dreads really don't like to be over-washed if possible, a natural shampoo is best with no conditioner.

The best way to wash them is simply going to the beach and absorbing the fresh salt water. Leave the salt in for as long as possible before washing out. When drying your dreads make sure you just pat them dry and get some sun on them. Never go to sleep with wet dreads as they tend to get a musty smell to them overnight and then you may have to wash them again.

For a deep clean rinse to get rid of excess wax and dirt buildup add together 1 tbsp baking soda, 1 tbsp seasalt, 10 drops of teatree oil in a basin with warm water... Soak and then rinse thoroughly.
COLOUR YOUR DREADS
There are many ways that you can apply colour to your dreads. Generally it is the same as dying hair and the same process can be followed.
Attention is required to ensure the colour is evenly spread and covers all sections of your dreads if desired. It will also take more rinsing to get the excess dye out and you dreads may be fluffier after doing so.
Be careful as some products may cause permanent damage, so be sure to test the product on a small section of dread first.

We don't offer dread colouring services sorry, but are happy to advise you on how to go about it.
